About Desktop Studiocore
Desktop Studiocore grew out of product analytics work inside consumer finance teams in Kuala Lumpur. We noticed the same pattern: install numbers looked healthy while funded accounts lagged, and no one owned a single definition of activation that product, growth, and compliance would accept in the same meeting.
Mission
We help fintech organisations measure and improve the path from first open to first meaningful financial action — with respect for licensing constraints, KYC realities, and the patience of Malaysian customers who will abandon a flow that asks too much, too early.
How we work
We prefer short, sharp engagements over open-ended retainers. An audit has a start week and a readout date. When a retainer makes sense, the metric set is fixed first so monthly conversations stay comparable. We write in plain language; if a chart needs a paragraph of caveats, those caveats appear next to the chart.
People
Our analysts have sat in release rooms for digital banking onboarding, wallet cash-in campaigns, and lending apps where first drawdown — not registration — was the true activation moment. We are not a staffing agency; a named lead stays with your engagement from scoping to the final slide.
Values
- Prefer definitions that survive a compliance review
- Separate acquisition quality from product friction before blaming either
- Refuse vanity metrics that hide unfunded accounts
- Keep advice actionable within the next one or two release cycles
Malaysia context
Working here means acknowledging dual-language interfaces, document verification practices common to local identity cards, and the interplay between marketing incentives and risk rules. We plan fieldwork and readouts around that context rather than importing playbooks written for other markets.
