Activation Review

How Desktop Studiocore runs an Activation Review for fintech app activation analytics — stages, inputs, and readout.

Activation Review

The Activation Review is the operating rhythm behind our flagship audit. It is a human-led sequence of definition, measurement, and prioritisation — not a software product you log into.

Stage 1 — Define the finish line

We ask what “activated” must mean for your licence and business model: first deposit, first peer transfer, first bill pay, card activation, or first loan drawdown. Until that sentence is agreed, charts remain negotiable.

Stage 2 — Inventory the path

Together we list the screens, document checks, and funding options a new customer faces. We note where marketing promises diverge from the live build.

Stage 3 — Measure the cohort

Using extracts you already trust, we build stage conversion for a recent acquisition window. We separate acquisition quality (who arrived) from product friction (where they stopped).

Stage 4 — Rank the friction

Each hypothesis is scored for expected impact, implementation effort, and compliance sensitivity. Large “maybe” ideas sit below small fixes that unblock funded accounts this quarter.

Stage 5 — Readout

A ninety-minute session with product, growth, and a compliance or risk guest. You leave with a written note your release owners can action.

What to bring

  • Current activation definition (even if contested)
  • Access path to event or BI extracts
  • Release notes for the last two onboarding changes
  • One owner who can decide follow-up work
